If cooking and eating are among those few things in life that bring you joy

I think you might enjoy this ride that I intend to take you on. It all started not too long ago, in January 2008 to be precise.
3rd January 2008, was my last day at work in my office of 6 years. I had decided to take time off from work, my reason- not very different from so many women around the world. I had had two little boys in a span of 18 months- from having no kids and a jet setting career to a demanding toddler and a breastfeeding infant in the care of a nanny, i was distraught, my heart was split, and somewhere in it i knew it was time, and so i made the choice…well the very obvious one.
It is an understatement to say that life changes…i think we will have to stir Mr. Wordsworth up to help us coin a term that can more aptly describe the metaphoric meteor that hits you when you go through so many changes at one time in life- physical, mental, hormonal, financial…the list goes on. These challenges, although seem miniscule when you think about the enormous issues facing this world but in my life this was my tsunami, right then.
My feelings ranged from apprehension to exhilaration, self-doubt to outbursts until finally realization and acceptance set in. 3 years on, i find myself a new person…i do the school runs, i go grocery shopping, i enjoy occasional coffee mornings and the ladies night outs and most amazingly i have discovered my innate need for cooking, my calling, is it the hunt for self-worth and appreciation, i do not know, i do not wish to dissect the reasons any further because the results i am told are delicious.
I will be dedicating this blog to this journey of food and my cookbook “Accessory Recipes for Magical Mealtimes”, that i am in the process of publishing at the moment.
For now dear reader
Happy eating and thanks for reading
